ก่อนลงทุนระบบบำบัด ควรเข้าใจค่ามาตรฐานน้ำทิ้งที่กรมโรงงานกำหนด และวัดค่าน้ำเสียของโรงงานตนเองก่อน

Measure your effluent before choosing treatment

Before investing in a treatment system, understand the discharge limits set by the Department of Industrial Works and test your own effluent first.

• pH — how acidic or alkaline the discharge is
• BOD — oxygen microbes use to break down organic matter
• COD — oxygen needed to oxidise all chemical content
• Suspended solids (SS) and fats/oils

Approaches that suit an SME

• Grease traps and settling ponds are a low-cost first stage
• Biological treatment for organic wastewater
• Contract a licensed handler for hazardous sludge
